Delegated Services

The areas of service covered under C4 Guardianship Services include those found in C3, as well as guardianship of children in the continuing custody of the Director. Practice standards for guardianship are similar to those for voluntary care in C3, but also include:

• develop, monitor and review comprehensive plans of care for children in care,

• legal documentation,

• permanency planning for children in care,

• prepare youth to transition for independence,

• reportable circumstances,

• ongoing monitoring of child's well-being while in care, and

• quality care reviews.

The areas of service covered under Delegated C3 Voluntary Services include:

• Support services for families

• Voluntary care agreements for children, including temporary in-home care

• Special needs agreements, including those for children in care on no fixed term

Aboriginal Child & Youth Mental Health provides the following services:

• Indiviudla Counselling (for children / youth);

• School Outreach (mental health promotion);

• Family Wellness Program (parenting);

• Pathways to Power Circle (violence prevention);

• High-Risk Youth Support;

• Community Engagement (hockey groups, arts & crafts);

• Summer Day Camps

Our team of eight highly-committed professionals work from a client-centered perspective that celebrates the strengths in every person.  We build our programs on a foundation of Tsilhqot’in and Ulkatchot’en cultures and value the creation and nurturing of community partnerships.

Family Care Worker provides the following services:

• Tsilhqot’in communities will have increased knowledge about Aboriginal children on MCFD caseload;

• Meet with MCFD Social Worker’s to review Dakelh/Tsilhqot’in caseloads;

• Identify possible placement resources for Aboriginal children in care;

• Provide or facilitate Aboriginal involvement in developing plans of care;

• Support and attend family court with Dakelh/Tsilhqot’in families;

• Referring children and families for support services;

• Improve involvement of MCFD clients with family and community;

• Communicating and providing educational workshops to our Family support staff of the Yunesit’in, Xeni Gwet’in, Tsi Del Del, Tl’esqox and Ulkatcho;

• Improve knowledge of above mentioned communities about MCFD and Family Development activities with the children and families.

  Nun Yaz Daycare

  Nun Yaz Daycare offers care to children ranging in ages 2½ (30 months) to 5 years old.  We are licensed to provide care for 13 children.

  Open to all.  Subsidy rates apply to all.

Aboriginal Family Group Conferencing

AFGC is a formal meeting where members of a child’s immediate family come together with extended family and members of the child’s community to develop a plan to keep the child safe—when a child protection social worker believes a child needs protection.

Community Enrichment Program

The Community Enrichment Worker is available to deliver workshops in the Tsilhqot’in Communities, the Dakelh community of Ulkatcho and in Williams Lake at Denisiqi. Please see below a list of workshops that are available:
